Drawing set statuses
The status of a drawing set determines if:
- The drawing set is a draft.
- The drawing set is locked.
- Drawing set participants receive an email when the status changes while the notification setting is on.
The permissions for a status determine which security roles can select that status and what the security roles can do in a record with that status.

When you create a drawing set, it's saved immediately with the Draft status selected. Draft drawing sets are visible only to the user who created them, as well as to portfolio administrators, and can be saved with incomplete required fields.
The drawing set changes from the Draft status if:
- You select a different status.
- You add an assignment or courtesy copy. Then the drawing set changes immediately to the next status in the list.
- Drawing sets can't be changed back to the Draft status.
- After you select the Publish Drawings button in a draft drawing set, the status changes to the next one in the list.

A drawing set is locked when it has a locked status. Anyone with the related permission can unlock the record to edit it.

- In the drawing set, on the navigation toolbar, select
(Locked).
The first unlocked, non-draft status is assigned to the drawing set.

- Select a locked status.

Drawing sets can't be changed back to the Draft status.

- Open the drawing set.
- In the Information panel, select an option from the status list.
