Default assignees

Default assignees are assigned automatically to new records, drawing sets, and drawings

  • If the record type uses ball-in-court workflows, the Default assignees option is not available in the settings menu. You can add default assignees in the ball-in-court workflow templates.
  • Records with default assignees are created in the first non-draft status.
  1. Open the record settings.
  2. Select the item type.
  3. On the settings menu, select Default assignees.

You can set the default assignee by discipline (RFIs only), contact, or workflow role.

  • If you set default assignees by discipline for RFIs, assignees are added automatically to an RFI when a discipline is selected.
  • If you select a workflow role, each contact in that role is assigned automatically to new records. Workflow roles are assigned in the team member settings.

  1. In the Default Assignees section, select Configure Assignees.
  2. From the list, select Discipline.
  3. Select the Default for unassigned disciplines field, and then select a contact.

    4. The selected contact is the default assignee for any unassigned disciplines.

  4. For each discipline, select a contact.
  5. To add another contact to a discipline, select Add assignee, and then select the discipline and contact in the new row.

    6. Rows that are incomplete or duplicates will be ignored when you save the changes.

  6. Select Save.

    7. A read-only list of the default assignees is displayed in the Default Assignees section.

  1. In the Default Assignees section, select Configure Assignees.
  2. ClosedAdd contacts as default assignees.
    1. From the list, select Contacts, and then select Add assignee.
    2. Open the list of users or contacts.
      • To open the list of ProjectSight users, select Users.
      • To open the list of company and project contacts, select Contacts.

        • To view all the contacts in the portfolio, select the Include portfolio contacts checkbox.

      The list displays only project contacts or displays all contacts and users, depending on the portfolio setting for company and contact selection.

    3. Select a name.

      4. If you select the checkboxes for some users and then enter a search term, those users remain selected even if they're not visible in the filtered list.

    Select Workflow Role, and then select a role.

  3. Select Save.

    4. A read-only list of the default assignees is displayed in the Default Assignees section.

You can edit or remove the default assignee.

  1. In the Default Assignees section, select Configure Assignees.
  2. Select an option from the list, and then select Save.

  3. Select Save.
